After believing in the quality of Cob Creek's soil and climate, research and scientific results proved that they were comparable to some of the best wine-lands in the Western Cape, the main wine producing area in South Africa. 'Good soil produces good wines.'
The first planting of vineyards started in 2005 and Cob Creek Estate presently boasts 32 hectares of quality 'wine on the vine', a first for the Eastern Cape. Cob Creek Estate has pioneered viticulture in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Cob Creek Winery will present a 'Tasting Room' which will be open throughout the year where guests can taste and purchase the Cob Creek Wines in a relaxed atmosphere. A collection of fine wine varieties will be available from Cob Creek Estate by November 2010.
